The drive has a black chequered and textured finish on the top surface and is piano black gloss around the sides. Of course, standard Windows software and tools can be used instead of or as well as the Samsung-branded software if preferred.
The software supports various functions including auto backup, file / folder security, drive lock, drive diagnostics, partition setup, and power management settings. Although the drive can be used without the need for any additional software, it comes pre-loaded with Samsung Drive Manager which is a piece of software that allows the convenient use of external hard drives.
